Four people run MUN Society Pakistan. They take the training sessions, they sit on the board, and they have all competed on the circuit themselves.

Rohaan Arshad

Co-Founder of MUN Society Pakistan, overseeing member training and delegation performance.

Full profile

Rohaan is a fourth-year student at Habib University, completing a degree in Social Development and Policy.

Alongside his studies he has coached the Model United Nations programme at Nixor College, Karachi for two consecutive seasons, guiding the team to multiple Best Delegation awards and individual accolades on the competitive circuit.

In his own A Levels at Nixor College he captained the school's MUN team, picking up multiple accolades and delegation awards. As a coach he has since taken an institution to the most awards won by any school at LUMUN, and made them a two-time HUMUN winner, the strongest result in that institution's history.

Ammar Hashmi

Co-Founder of MUN Society Pakistan, overseeing the society's financial management and strategy.

Full profile

Ammar holds a BS in Economics from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi.

Before co-founding the society he built a track record as a debate coach and public speaking instructor at leading institutions across Karachi, including The City School PAF Chapter and Denning. Training students across the O and A Level circuit is what led him to co-found MSP.

Over his own competitive career he won across the circuit, in Pakistan and internationally. He later moved out of a corporate career into coaching full time, and has now been coaching for over three years, working in parliamentary debate alongside Model United Nations.

Umer Irfan

Operations and International Coordination

Coordinates with international teams and stakeholders, and oversees coaching plans and training content.

Full profile

Umer is a BBA graduate of the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi. Alongside running his own business he brings more than 16 years in competitive debating and Model United Nations as a coach, marketer and advisor.

He has coached multiple institutions across Karachi, taking student delegations to international recognition on the competitive circuit.

At MUN Society Pakistan he focuses on strategy and guidance, working with the board to shape the society's longer-term direction.

Hamza Sayyed

Legal and Outreach

Provides legal counsel to the board and builds the society's institutional partnerships and outreach.

Full profile

A law lecturer, advocate, debating coach and public speaking trainer, Hamza brings over 12 years in competitive debating and more than 13 years in Model United Nations.

He is a Lecturer at Denning Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship, where he has mentored more than 500 students in debating, MUN, advocacy and leadership. His students have taken delegation awards at some of Pakistan's most prestigious conferences, including LUMUN, and he competed and won across debating and MUN throughout his own academic career.

He has organised and managed academic conferences and institutional events involving over 1,000 participants, leading teams across academics, logistics, finance, operations, marketing, protocol and delegate affairs. He has also established debating societies and mentored student leaders to run high-profile events independently.

He teaches on the University of London LLB Programme, specialising in Public Law, Administrative Law, and Legal Systems and Methods.

The people who founded the society are the people who take the sessions. There is no layer of administration between a member and their coaching.
